Interview with Hermosa Beach-based singer Corinne Crimson

Hermosa Beach-based singer and songwriter Corinne Crimson, the world’s a stage, the beach is better than any sound booth, and the best beat is anything you can shake your booty to. With a sound that fans of Tove Lo, Halsey, and Lorde will be drawn to, she’s crafted a vibe that’s all her own. Corinne’s music is a colorful fusion of times and genres, inspired by the lyrics of the 60s and 70s, the eclectic synth pop of the 80s, and the more recent psychedelic rock and dance music of our time.

When did you start making music and taking it seriously?

I’ve been writing songs since I was a teenager when my Dad taught me my first chords on the guitar. It’s always made me so happy to express myself through music. I’ve played in multiple bands for fun and studied music at Musicians Institute in Hollywood. I started taking it seriously in 2017 when I started releasing songs independently.

Tell us about your new project.

I’ve got a new song coming out this month, “Peace of Mind”. It may even be available by the time this interview is released. It’s a fun Pop/ Alternative Dance song with a great drum beat and nothing but good vibes. It puts a smile on my face every time I hear it.

What does it mean to you?

It thrills me to release each song. It’s like Christmas for me! Each song is a piece of the story of my life. To have the opportunity to share it is a gift!

What is your ultimate goal at the end of your career?

Music is powerful. It can be used to bring people together. Of course, I want to entertain. I also think it’s important to promote unity, equality, social justice and love. If I can do these things then I will feel I’m worthy of a music career.

Do you feel that the industry needs more artist like yourself?   Why?

The music industry needs every kind of voice. Just like we need equal representation in government, and community, we need representation of all voices in art. This is how we grow together.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

Everyone has something unique to offer. When you hone your skills into a craft you really have something special to share. It takes all of us to make a better tomorrow. I’m doing my part in my own way. No one is better at expressing what I have to share then me, so yes, I’m the best at doing my unique thing.

What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?

Take as many lessons as you can. YouTube is an incredible source for learning, it’s at your fingertips. Keep playing. Play for your friends, your family, anyone. Don’t stop. Think about what brings you joy and pursue it with everything!

How can potential fans find you?
