Comatose Red Ivy Interview with Muzique Magazine

How did you come by your stage name?

Artist: Comatose Red Ivy

Comatose is the name of the ghost that taught me to rap and sing after I was poisoned with cyanide. He’d make me karaoke all night and I didn’t know then I was gonna be a rapper-singer.

Red: Red is the color of hair the first girl had my killer killed, red is the color of the world I woke up in within Ivys Cyanide Dream. red is my killer’s favorite color and red is now a color that represents all the events leading up to today.

Ivy: Ivy represents my psyche, not poisonous or harmful until you touch (push me) then it’s very poisonous as in poisonous ivy Or. Ivy rhymes with a lot too.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

October 16, 2020, I woke up from being poisoned and wanted a microphone. Comatose was still here then and helped me pick out equipment.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

Sadness, emptiness and loneliness.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

I turned the microphone on and started singing. None of my albums or songs have ever been written or planned. All my songs are first to try every try recorded, no edit upload and done.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

No challenges yet, other than my mental health which isn’t new to me. Music industry is broke. And it needs me.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

Song creator yes, I don’t even have to try. Ever write anything and never plan a thing.

What are your plans for the near future?

Currently suicide, after my not ex’s homicide. I’m pretty broken and sad with no hope. The microphone lets me hold on to the life I don’t want. Family gone, friends gone and everyone hates me because I’m transgender.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

Mac Miller, Taught me wordplay.

How can fans find you?

The internet, just google: Comatose Red Ivy

What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?

Slit your wrist and quit, this crap sucks.
