Christine Storm Talks About Up Coming New Album, Personal Style & More

National recording artist Christine Storm has performed throughout the world, has been a prolific songwriter, and continues to tap into her wide range of life experiences for her music. Christine’s influences range from Alice Cooper to Blood, Sweat, and Tears, all the way across the spectrum to Kate Bush and Prince.

Her sound has been described as an eclectic blend of Soul and Techno dance with melodies that are Pop driven. Many of her songs tell a story and confront real-life feelings and attitudes, but with a humorous touch in many cases.

How did you come by your stage name?

I wrote a song called “Storm”. The video was really cool and my husband, cast and crew just started calling me Storm and it stuck!

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I was born 12 minutes to stage time. I really came out as an artist/entertainer. I was the annoying kid demanding people look at me and my art.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

I thank my Mother for making me watch great old movies that had wonderful actresses from the ’40s on!

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

For my single PAIN that I just released, I was observing life. I happened to be out to dinner and was sitting next to a couple who was breaking up loudly. And I think this song has universal appeal because everyone has probably gone to this place at one point!

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

My challenge was taking the desire for it to earning a right to do it. It is an earn while you learn business and craft. There is a lot of criticism and flops along the road. There were a lot of tears! I listened to my Dad “Never Give Up” and my Husband took up the reigns in total support.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

I’m the best at not judging my process and letting the art come! I don’t second guess what comes to me! I’m also pretty organized which is very necessary to play at this level.

What are your plans for the near future?

My Plans are to get on tour and back into acting! I started in theater and really love acting and hope to do a great TV series like Reign, Billions or movies.

I’m also at the sewing machine constantly working on a new clothing line and eventually planning on learning how to take an occasional break and enjoy the outdoors more!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

I’d like to thank God for everything and my Husband and Parents for believing in me! I’d also like to thank the people who tried to discourage me and get in my way! That was just the fuel I needed! Thank You!

What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?

Do YOU really well! Don’t compare yourself to others or envy other’s gifts. Embrace your weirdness but understand there is a time and place for it! I think in order to do life really well you have to wear many hats, but I went to the next level of being an artist when I took off the mask and showed everyone how strange I really, I am.

There will always be someone smarter, better looking, more talented, better funded, more experienced etc.! I embraced my weirdness like my Dyslexia: It allows me to think outside the box but on the really bad days with it… I can’t even find the box! Oh well! My point is, embrace your flaws!
