Lil Justin Talks about Sense of Style, Upcoming Projects, and more

How did you come by your stage name?

First name is Justin, never really went with nicknames

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I always would freestyle before games in high school for my team and on the bus but never took it seriously, I just knew they liked it and I did as well. But one day I went into a studio for fun with my QB from the team and the engineer offered my free studio time because he felt I had a talent at this. Fast forward 2 years and I’m on 2 tours with juice wrld and state property. That’s when I knew I’d make a career from it.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

I always had my own style, never wanted to be an artist growing up so I never modeled myself to anyone. But Migos and Lil baby were some of the artists who inspired me from a personal view.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

I just completed my EP, with 6 songs with no features. I waited 2 years to drop a new project due to management issues and the current events going on right now around the world. S.F.T.D (Sorry For The Delay) is the title of my EP, hence me not dropping during all of that. I’ll be dropping videos to each of the songs as well, this project was thought out and planned so I’m excited to give them this piece of art.

What are your plans for the near future?

I plan to drop my project this year and continue to drop consistently with a dedicated team alongside me. Hopefully, covid will calm down by next year so I can start touring again but headlining this time.

I’d like to thank god first and foremost, I’d also like to shoutout to everyone who has believed in me since day 1 and stuck w me through the ups and downs. The wait is over.
