Ladrillo Exclusive Interview with Muzique Magazine

How did you come by your stage name?

Ladrillo is a Spanish word that means ‘brick’, and we chose this as a reference of South American cultural mosaic, pointing out several elements of this culture. It is clearly represented in our music.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

For us, music is like breathing and has always been there as something vital. As individuals, we drove different pathways, but at some point, we were already performing live and producing music in the studio.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

We are Brazilian. Our manner comes from Brazilian culture and the richness of its diversity. Our writers, painters, and musicians are the foundation of what we do. We also assumed elements and rhythms from other countries in Latin America.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

Art always challenges you. Artists should be prepared for that. We’re focused in communicate our music to the world and provide a message with relevance for people who will receive it. In the studio, we have to be committed to our craft, trustful to our roots, and bring the best we can give.

What are your plans for the near future?

Ladrillo is a new band, and we have an entire life ahead. We’ve just released our first single and we are about to release more. Now our goal is on making our music heard all around the world. Especially in the countries that we have never been to.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

We got a huge number of people that we are grateful to, and Ladrillo’s dreams wouldn’t come true without them. We would thank our families for the support, the wonderful musicians that had collaborated with us, especially the pianist Renato Xexeu and also Helena Alba, and her outstanding crew who was in charge of the production of our first music video.
