Lil Stance Interview with Muzique Magazine

How did you come by your stage name?

The name Lil Stance represents who I am because I believe in what I stand in, my stand towards something is always positive. I never back down in difficult situations, my stance on a problem never change

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

Very young, I always knew that I was born with creativity, that I am a gift from God, and a gift from God full of surprises because I am very good in music, sports, production, in directing. God surprised me with a lot of positive activities that even I cannot imagine. I always wanted to become a professional football (soccer) player, but my dream of becoming a professional footballer unexpectedly collapsed, so I decided to make music.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

Well, I am going to tell you Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Jadakiss, Chris Brown, Fabulous and Usher are my biggest music influencers, they make great music and the message behind their music is some really strong words. I have sort of my style of music of these artists and at the same time, my style of music is influenced by trap and drill music. Lil Baby, Young Thug, Gunna, Polo G, Lil Tjay, and Fivio Foreign, these artists make great music, I love their music, and that is one reason I got into trap and drill music.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

I didn’t have a lot of money to go to the recording studio and the studio was very expensive and besides the producer doesn’t edit your songs like all popular artists, so one day I decided to learn how to edit in less than 2 days. I took the mic and recorded “Moving Blind” ft. HULKSICKO! In 2018 and released it on all digital streaming platforms, but removed it later. Then on April 20, 2021, I released “Don’t Lie” ft. HULKSICKO! streaming on all digital platforms and also that day I released “Moving Blind”.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

So far, I haven’t challenged anything that could hurt me or affect my career, making sure I stay on track and stay consistent. I thank God for this because he hasn’t let me down and he never will. My greatest attribute is learning to edit because it helps me a lot and I don’t go to recording studios which saves me a lot of money.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

Yes, I am the best at what I do because I am different from everyone else and no one thinks like me and I don’t think like other people because we are all unique.

What are your plans for the near future?

My plans for the future are to release more music and I have also started a show on Youtube called “Lil Stance True Genius – Feel the Vibes of NYC”. The show involves interviewing random people on the streets of New York City and asking them what they like and dislike about New York City. I plan to do the show in other US cities and around the world to build my fan base.

What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?

Stay focused on everything you do and every direction you take. There will be a lot of immoral people in your path but don’t let that stop you from doing your homework, keep going, and don’t let negativity break you down.
