Interview with Atlanta based Hip -Hop artist “Skandulos”
How did you come by your stage name?
I came up with my name Skandulos on my grandmother’s porch on Delmare Lane with my mom. and the meaning is I’m never gonna do less than anyone else I’m ALWAYS going to strive to be the best
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
I’ve always had a love for music even a young child. But when I heard Queen Latifah, Yo-Yo, and M.C Lyte on the same song talking about Freedom the song just blew my mind. And I wanted to be a strong black woman just like them.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
My influential artists are Tupac, La Chat, Gangsta Boo, Playa Fly, Kevin Gates, and the Queen of course Queen Latifah.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
I was sitting in the studio with my brother Visco and we wanted to come up with a song to make people feel good especially with everything going on in the world. and who doesn’t wanna either see their booty jiggle or watch a booty Jiggle so “Judy” is about a big booty.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
The greatest challenge for me in the industry is getting the music in front of the right people. I have always been a go-getter with a hustler spirit. which you always hear that in my music the passion for my craft.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
I think I could be one of the greatest in the game.
What are your plans for the near future?
To continue to grind for that goal ALL independent artists are striving for. to have my music heard around the world.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
I’d like to shout out God, Azar Malone Productions, Soul Trap studios for the dope track, and last BUT not least my Manager Dee Mac for setting up this interview with you today.
How can fans find you?
What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?
My best advice is to continue to grind for that goal, but never stab your day ones in the back to do it. Do it on your own terms but most importantly NEVER FORGET WHY YOU GOT IN THE GAME, TO BEGIN WITH…FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR CRAFT…THE MONEY WILL COME TO CONTINUE TO MAKE THOSE B.O.$.$MOVEZ!!
