Interview with Singer and songwriter OLYA K

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I used to sing with my sister, or with my mom and dad occasionally. Then in the school choir, and with teenage singing groups. Poetry writing turned into Songwriting which was a natural progression. All the music influences, of course, contributed to the decision to pursue music professionally.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

I’m glad I was exposed to all sorts of music since I was a kid. We used to own vinyl records in the style of jazz, pop, rock, and country. That pointed me in the direction of being a versatile performer. I like pop, rock, R&B and modern country.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

I’m so happy with my new song Hollywood and I’m happy to promote it to radios and magazines. The music arranger Raz Klinghoffer played all the instruments and I appreciate the song’s club dance sound, mixed with retro pop.

What are your plans for the near future?

I believe that a hit song has a great melody and great lyrics, regardless of the style. My goal is to write hit songs for myself and for other artists.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

Thanks to all the fans who like and share the new song Hollywood on social media. And thanks to all the radio stations who are including it in their programming.

How can fans find you?
