Interview with Serbian Based Pop Rock Artist Andrej
Andrej is a professional music producer and artist from Kraljevo, Serbia. Since 2017, he has released two pop/rock/funk singles “It’s My Day” and “Love Defined”, which were co-written with an Estonian lyricist and author Anni Pea.
Andrej’s music consists of a unique blend of funk-rock music with elements of contemporary pop sound. He’s about to release a new single “Alive again” before 2020 kicks off.
How did you come by your stage name?
At this moment, my stage name (Andrej) is a natural choice, since my full name is also Andrej, but I’ve gone through different stages where in the beginning I used to have a stage name of Andy White. However, Andrej seemed like a more natural and original choice, such as I like my music to be.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
My father is a musician, so I used to be ‚.in the game’’ ever since I was a kid. I was a talented kid and used to win some singing competitions for children. It wasn’t until I discovered The Beatles that I truly thought about playing an instrument and doing that professionally though, which was at the age of 12.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
John Lennon for singing style and overall artistic approach to life and music. Paul McCartney for his musicality and overall songwriting genius. Credits also go to RHCP, RATM, Daft Punk and many more. There have been too many influential artists to list.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
‘Alive Again’ , a next single I’ll be publishing, is a song made in a true pop/rock style that tells about a solitary man driving through the city, looking to find the love that he is missing, wondering why is it so good to be with the woman of his dreams, and why he only feels alive when she’s around.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Great challenges – overcoming my own barriers sometimes, especially with regards to doing the promotional work for my music and work. Attributes – hmm, people I work with could probably tell you more about it, but I try to be reliable, decisive and perfectionist.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
There are tons of other people I look up to in the music world. I don’t think I am the best! For me, music is about transferring the emotion and energy, collaboration and love, before anything else.
What are your plans for the near future?
Releasing a single, making a music video for it. The long-term plan is increased activity on promoting my own music and sharing with as many people worldwide who would enjoy the style I’m producing, which is rock/pop/funk. I’m sure there are a lot of guys out there who would enjoy my music, so my aim is to reach them!
Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
Shout out to my family, friends, and of course my wonderful collaborator Anni Pea, who is a published author, and without whom none of this would be possible! Thank you!
How can fans find you?
My Facebook page is linked with my Instagram account, so either way is possible. I try to reply to each and every message, and fans sometimes do give awesome suggestions!

What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
Set goals, and work each day on them! As simple as that. Be consistent and persistent, and the results will come naturally. Peace out
