Interview with Hip Hop artist X-YLE
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
Discovered I loved hip hop at like 11 years old. It just felt right to me. Being able to express my thoughts and emotions in such an artistic way felt good. I realized I wanted to make it a career when I saw the response I was getting. It was an amazing feeling and I just didn’t want it to stop.
On your upcoming project, how did you come up with the concept?
Well, the name of the project is called “THE ART THE LIFE”. I came up with it as another way of saying art imitates life. The concept come to me through certain things I was going through at the time. Feeling like I wasn’t being recognized or taken seriously. So I had to remind myself that this is an art form, and remember why I fell in love with it in the 1st place.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
I think my greatest challenges are being a better version of who I was the day before. Lol sounds like a lot a pressure I know. I just feel growth is important, so you gotta push yourself to be a better version of yourself at all times. Otherwise, what’s the point. My greatest attribute as far as work ethic, I would have to say my consistency. I love music too much to stop. Add to that I always want more. The world is never enough lol.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
I feel I’m the best at who I am and how I do it. There’s always somebody better than you out there. I strive to be the best at WHAT I do, but HOW I do it absolutely I’m number 1.
What are your plans for the near future?
I Have a few ventures I’m working on. My priorities right now are continuing to promote my album, get ready to have artists under my label (FRONTLYNE RECORDS) release their projects. And release my movie “THE GREY AREA”.
