Getting to Know Cody Cuevas

How did you come by your stage / brand name?

I always thought making a stage name would be fun and what I really wanted to do but I stuck with my real name because I simply just want to be myself.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I started writing poems in the second grade for a girl and then I started writing “love” songs. Not long after I started writing rap songs cause I grew up with an older brother and he always listened to Tupac and Tech N9ne and my favorite thing at the time was to rap fast because of Tech and that really showed me how much I enjoyed rapping. That’s when I realized I loved it.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

The majority of my inspiration comes from a lot of artists it just depends on my mood really but I would definitely give credit to J. Cole and Drake they’re my top two go-to artists.

What are your plans for the near future?

My plan for the future is to keep growing my YouTube channel and create music when I can. I believe that if I can create an audience to watch my videos then they’ll listen to my music too.
