INDIE SPOT
Exclusive Interview with Hei$enberg
How did you come by your stage name?
I actually got my stage name from the TV show Breaking Bad. It was my wife’s idea and I just ran with it. I find it fitting since the character in Breaking Bad lived a double life, which is basically what I am doing.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
I have been in love with music since I can remember. Watching the Gin & Juice video by Snoop Dogg was one of the first influences that made me want to rap. I didn’t take it seriously until after being released from federal prison on drug trafficking charges. I did a lot of writing while I was inside..
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
I feel like I am a hybrid between the new generation and the rappers dating back to the early 2000’s
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
I feel like hip hop is missing feel-good music, with mostly everyone doing drill music. My goal was to uplift the independent women and shed some light on them with this record.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
Truthfully, no. I am working towards that. I want to be known as one of the best to ever do it when it is all said and done.
What are your plans for the near future?
I plan on dropping more music in the near future and continue to keep working on my craft.
