Only1Tipy talks about his craft, greatest challenges and more
How did you come by your stage brand name?
Only1Tipy stands for being unique. Standing on your own strength. Being that individual that stands apart from the crowd.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
I’ve been writing music since 5th grade. Always having a love for entertaining people sparked my interest in entertainment. I started off putting on shows for my class while waiting to be called to our buses. Lol. It was always in me.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
I would definitely have to say my cousin Ryan (Only1BrownBear) and my homeboy Hollywoo. They always kept me on my toes when it came to fashion. My cousin and I were always in fashion even at an early age. We use to trade clothes so we can keep new clothes in rotation. Lol.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
My project was completed for about a month before coming up with a name. That’s always the hardest part for me. Naming the project. But one of my producers Dusty told me to name the project from one of the current songs on it. So that’s how I came up with the new EP title “Free Slave”.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Some of my greatest attributes would be my work ethic it’s self. I don’t know when to stop working. I’m basically a workaholic. I tend to overwork myself to where I have to be forced to go to sleep.
Lol. And stay sleep. Lol. Some challenges I face would be not having a social life. I often isolate myself from people while I’m in recording mode. Just because I get into different vibes where I usually don’t want that energy to rub off on people the wrong way.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
I am definitely the best at what I do. No question!!
What are your plans for the near future?
I am working on a project with the late great Nipsey Hussle DJ VIP. We are working on a collaborative mixtape that will be released later this year. I also plan to release another album this year with Freeway Rick Ross label “Rick Ross Music Group” later this year.
I’m working with a new artist by the name of Suckafree Jizzle on a joint project after the release of our new hit single NECK DEEP with YOG THE LABEL AND YSL RECORDS.
I also have a joint project with a producer name Dj Emotion which will be released this year too under All Jam Music Group. And I’m anticipating dropping another EP for the ladies called One Night Stand. But as for now, I’m focused on my current EP “Free Slave”.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
I’d like to thank my team (Only1BrownBear, Hollywoo, Suckafree Jizzle, J3, Droopy, Trish, Big Walt, Mx Poison Ivy, Positive B White). IBNX RADIO, PDC, YOG THE LABEL, No Filter Fridays Radio Show, Dj V.I.P., DJ Pryme Time, Freeway Rick Ross, All Jam Music Group and every single person who supported me from day one.
And the ones who supported after that. I thank each and everyone one of y’all from my heart. And of course MY FAMILY AND MY BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER AALIYAH. DADDY LOVES YOU FOR LIFE.
