New interview with Grace de Gier a singer/songwriter with alternative rock influences

New interview with Grace de Gier a singer/songwriter with alternative rock influences. Originally from Colombia and now based in The Netherlands.

Her songs are informed by her love of her family and friends and her day to day experience.  Singing in Spanish, she creates a sound that is edgy yet welcoming, inviting listeners to hear her innermost thoughts.

Grace spent her entire childhood singing before putting off her dreams when she started a family.

Now that she has firmly established herself in The Netherlands, she is finally ready to pursue her dreams again.  She is excited to continue spreading her inspirational music around the world!

How did you come by your stage name?

My name is Grace Salazar Carreno but de Gier is the last name of my husband, so I thought it sounds great Grace de Gier it’s a Dutch name.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I have always loved singing but I stopped for a couple of years to be sure it was the right time, so I think now is the right time! I love writing music and of course singing!

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

I am from Colombia but I always have listened to Rock music and some pop music since my childhood, my mother used to put the radio and there were bands like Queen, Guns N’ Roses, the police, the cure, all this kind of music which now I love it, also Rock pop Spanish music which I admire so much.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

I just want to be me, with my own thoughts and style! Also, I want people to listen to good Spanish songs! And it doesn’t mean it’s going to be very Latin but something different, I like Latin music also very much but my proposal is different.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

I love to sing from my heart and the best what I can do is singing my own songs, so the public can see how much I can give on the stage for my big passion, making songs and singing it.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?

I just want to tell them, never stop trying and dreaming, because many people can tell you, you aren’t doing it right, but you know inside your heart you are doing it right, just try and try until you get the right people who believe in you, but the most important is belive yourself.
