Interview with Up and Coming Artist Yung Dripz
How did you come by your stage name?
My name is YUNG DRIPZ :
The first part of the name came naturally to me since I am young and I have experienced a lot of things in my life already, the second part of my name I came up with because I have always even since I was a child loved to hear dripping, like the for instance.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
During a dark period of my life, I started writing poems and this ultimately evolved into the bars that I write nowadays. In my lyrics, I discuss things and feelings that I have experienced through friends and others, that I find intriguing and that I think worthy of the light. So many people suffer in the dark or in the grey zones.
This needs to come out in the open, whether it may be mental illness or some / any kind of abuse or addictions of sorts.
I developed an interest when being in high school, and thereafter I tried to seek as much knowledge concerning music and the making of the same as it was humanly possible, I went from being interested in being in the middle of everything happening and I could keep this “thing” afloat. That gave me such satisfaction combined with the fact that I now was able to tell others stories about their suffering and I just might, on the way make someone of the listeners feel less alone in the process.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
My sense of style or maybe moreso my influence has always been the same, it’s my longtime idol Lil Peep, to whom I credit my sense of musicality and style.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
To work with the flow in my lyrics and to get those magical bars to rhyme.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
I try to always evolve and develop into a better me, that makes even better music that has the power to reach out to many more.
What are your plans for the near future?
Id like to get my work out on Spotify., I am currently working on an album that will reach the public hopefully summer of 2019.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
I would really thank my Mom, for always helping me with my grammar and for always supporting me in my dreams. Id also want to thank Lxuie W for always inspiring me to do better music. Last but not least I would like to thank Yung Ivan, for always inspiring me to always write better lyrics and he keeps me motivated to sing hooks, that id rather not sing at all, for that I am thankful.

What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
To keep doing their music, to try and reach out to people who need that special lyric and hook in their lives and to keep fighting mental illness and to fight the stigma of the same and last but not least, to never give up on their dreams.
