Ali Doukali talk about his current project, style and much more
How did you come by your stage name?
My stage name, Ali Doukali, is my birth name. I don’t need to put on a front, or a show for anyone, I’m real, authentic. Down to every aspect of my being.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
Originally I started in music out of a relationship that went bad. I had a fake idea about what love was, about what I wanted my life to be, through being at the lowest point in my life, I bounced back a million times stronger.
I hustled longer, I stayed up all night writing music, recording, creating new flows and rhythms. As my growth as an artist took off, I loved the self-confidence that it brought me, the reassurance in life that I was special. That’s when I really knew, I had something here, music became my world.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
I don’t credit my style to anyone, that’s not to say that I haven’t drawn inspiration from other artists. My raw talent & ability to seamlessly write songs has taken me into a direction that is so unique to me. I credit myself and my ability to GRIND even when the world told me I would never make it.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
Smooth came to me by way of betrayal. I had a falling out with a close friend, someone I considered like family to me. Loyalty was broken, words were said, rumors spread, leaving me to change the way I interact with those around me today.
The bars in this song are pure, raw emotion from my perceptive about what transpired, and how those same “brothers” turned their backs in a seconds notice. This is the extermination of all ties I once had, and the rapture for all of the other rappers!
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
I would say my greatest challenge working within the music industry would have to be the proper allocation of my time. It’s a rough balance between writing, recording, and promoting. I am a driven individual, I have family starving in Africa that is counting on me, so quite honestly, my hunger & dedication would be my strongest asset, what I really lean on during tough times.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
I am the absolute pinnacle of Trap, Hip- Hop & Pop. There is no artist as versatile as me. You can stamp that. My bars and energy are just something that the music industry hasn’t seen yet, I’m just waiting for the rest of the world to catch up to my legend!
What are your plans for the near future?
My plans for the future are broad and vast. Currently, I am in the works with my label to further my growth and reach on the world. I will be a global icon. I will aid in building the Heartbreak on the Radio brand until we reach the absolute pinnacle, and have the ability to help out other young, talented, hunger artists.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
I would like to thank myself first and foremost. For believing in myself, for creating this artist that is a true phenom. For never giving up even after hundreds of voices told me to. I would also like to give a shoutout to my brother for sacrificing his own money and time to help me build this brand into a serious powerhouse. Finally, my manager Andrew for believing in me and grinding with me throughout this long process, when a lot of people didn’t. We are building something special here.

What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?
My suggestion for any artist is to turn up the volume in the headphones, turn up the beat, and drowned out the world. Nobody is going to believe in you until you make it, that’s just reality, and you cannot allow other words to define your dream or destiny. If you want to do anything in life, it requires unmatched energy, drive, and determination.
