Kaddy Interview with Mzuique Magazine
How did you come by your stage name?
I wanted to stand out, and tie my life around something I knew couldn’t be controlled socially or politically. After I operated under the moniker “Supa Kaddy”, I kept “Kaddy” and dropped the “Supa” because of its originality. “KADDY” stands for (KING AMAAN DON’T DISAPPOINT YOU)!
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
I’ve always loved the arts since my mother put me into my first art school (Newton D. Baker) as a painter and dancer. I’d later grow up and pursue it by attending The Cleveland School of The Arts as a musical theater major. YouTube also kept me intrigued in helping me realize my personal lifestyle.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
My hometown is Cleveland, OH. family, and being on the internet. Many inspirational people include; Beyoncé, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Eminem, Denzel Washington, SpongeBob SquarePants, Dexter’s Laboratory, Les Twins, Chris Brown, Michael Jackson, N.W.A., Tony Hawk, Shia LaBeouf, Green Day, Criss Angel, Erykah Badu, The Marvel Universe, Lauren Hill, Tupac, President Barack Obama, Linkin Park, LaLeLa MsWane, XXXTENTACION and Machine Gun Kelly.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
As I was writing “Runaway”, I thought about my brother running away from the mistreatment he received at home and referred to people who participate in domestic abuse as “demons”. This song is a dedication to all who may have had a tough childhood, and even tougher teenage years and want to feel liberated from their pain.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Giving into temptation that I have for females is my greatest challenge lol 😂. Though that same passion could be used in creating art and making something beautiful!
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
Being the Best is an aim, that I take every day.
What are your plans for the near future?
To succeed more than I ever could.

What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
Always have a strong mindset and an understanding of unity. Don’t give in to temporary temptation.
