Interview with Singer, Songwriter, Producer and Musician Didda Joe
Hello Didda Joe, Tell us more about your new music.
Hey, what’s going down! Basically, my new music is all just a continuation of my journey, my journey through moving to LA, finding myself in music, the relationships and women I’ve encountered, you, just my story but in an r&b way lol
Where are you from and where are you currently located?
I was born and raised in Indianapolis, but now I live in LA
When did you know music was going to be your passion?
I think I always knew, my Parents were both musicians one a singer and the other a bassist. They told me they pretty much combined their names to make mine, so I guess it was like they diverged these 2 worlds, and then came me haha. So I taught myself to play instruments and sing and I’ve always loved it!
What memorable responses have you had from your audiences?
I feel like my audiences always draw towards the live music most, even at my shows it’s just a way different energy than just having a track to sing to. I just think the vibrations of instrument always elevate the audience’s experience of the music whether listening or seeing the shows.
What would be your dream musical TOUR to go on?
Wow, that’s a hard one. There’s so many on my vision board lol. I would say Miguel and Ro James, and the cherry on top would be adding D’Angelo to the lineup! These are just a few of many who inspire me a lot to be myself and explore the more alternative ends of R&B! I could only imagine the gems I could learn on That tour!
How do you see the future of independent music?
I actually think Independency is becoming the new Major Deal. I mean Artists are finding their own way to a bigger audience and getting more of what’s rightfully their’s. I feel like being independent might be the future of the music industry, or at least it’s a way better lead way for artists to be heard.
What are you most looking forward to in the rest of 2019?
Definitely putting out New Music, it’s been 3 years since I put out my last project and I’ve just taken the time to find the right way to share the next chapter of my story. I’m really excited to share the new grooves with everyone and finally getting on the road to perform it!
