INDIE SPOT
Interview with Artist SWIFF
How did you come by your stage name?
We picked it as a team when things started getting serious they said we need to brand myself, something I can represent. I’m from swift current and I’ll rep that every day.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
What made me realize was all my friends going to school and dropping out and spending thousands of dollars on nothing. I didn’t wanna do that I wanted to take a jump and see what I can do. When I went to Toronto the first time was when I have seen that I could really make good music and my songs bang, once I started I couldn’t stop.
On your upcoming project, how did you come up with the concept?
I have been working on this album since December 2017, it took me 6 months to come up with words that feel like I tell my story and you get a small taste of what swift life is like. Obviously, the west coast is a constant vibe on the album but I want everyone to listen to it and have their own favorite song now?
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
We challenged every day I live in a city with 14 thousand people, nothing goes on here. I’m in LA constantly to go to a studio or do a video, there’s not a single studio where I’m from and there no way you could shoot a dope video. I gotta go to the states any time I wanna get some real work done.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
My mom an dad for sure, they been with me supporting me since day one. I know I would never be able to do anything I have done without them. Love you guys.
