Interview with Adult Contemporary and Pop singer/Song Writer Andy Michaels
How did you come by your stage name?
It’s my real name, just with an “S” on the end so as not to be confused with George Michael 🙂
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
After suffering an incapacitating accident during his teenage years, I picked up a guitar and a spark within ignited. Since then I have written over 120 unique songs that can mesmerize the listeners.
Aside from the melodic and impactful music, Andy Michaels is a poet with lyrics. The Australian artist delivers powerful and thought-provoking lyrics. Undoubtedly, the depth in his lyrics sets him apart in the music industry.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
If you were to compare Andy Michaels to other artists, he is a mix between Damien Rice, John Mayer and Jack Johnson. But, his sound is so unique that it’s unfair to pigeon hole him in one sound. (The weekly Spoon)
On your upcoming project, how did you come up with the concept?
The title of my new Album Incendiary Heart is also based on the single of the same name. Other than indigestion or chest pain (which doesn’t count) who hasn’t had a burning heart when it comes to love or relationships!
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
My greatest challenge is to ignore apathy. My greatest attribute is to ignore the noise and just be myself. We are all family
What are your plans for the near future?
With his music being played all around the world, Andy Michaels is set to start touring the world. As of now, he has regular performances around Australia as well as in Asia, including China.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
MY mother. Yeah, I know that sounds cliched but hear me out. She passed away recently of Alzheimer’s, and my last memory was her singing along when I was playing guitar. Despite her condition, Music had bypassed all the burnt-out brain circuitry into her soul and that’s what responded to me. I love you Mum, RIP

Just be your self and BELIEVE in yourself, Everyone is unique and we are all on this earth for a purpose. Make the most of it, and above all, have fun!
