Get to know Upcoming Artist “ᏌPAE”
ᏌPAE is a diminution of lupape, a name I had used since 1996 when I accessed the internet for the first time.
How did you come by your stage name?
ᏌPAE is a diminution of lupape, a name I had used since 1996 when I accessed the internet for the first time. U’s change was to create curiosity in the reader and be unique when searched for in search engines.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
Music has always been present in my career. As a designer and creative, sound-design and music have always served as support or even my work’s main piece. I had the opportunity to work with several incredible sound studios throughout my career.
This year I decided to study piano and venture into the world of synths and modulation. And I found in sound a new way to create interaction with the listeners, spectators, players, and users. My first job was released with UPAE – it was a game called Press-Space.
The player does not have an imposed objective. He uses the mouse and touches elements of the scene with a ball to generate sounds. The game was made using an open-source tool developed by MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).
You can check the game on the website – it works only on the computer and to play just press space – and mouse.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
I like several music types, especially Latin and electronic. I am very inspired by artists who used analog hardware in the past and created the forefront of the current movement – Kraftwerk, Pink Floyd, and Radiohead. Also, all the current content producers who create materials to help us learn about hardware inspires me in a way too.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
Zero my first single is highly organic, was created during a creative process. When I realized how much I liked the music, I finished mastering it and started launching it on the platforms to understand the audience’s response. Zero is also the first audio-visual piece that will be selling on blockchain – to check the pre-release of the first piece, just access – https://foundation.app/%E1%8F%8CPA%E1%8E%AC
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
Someone wrote that question for me I will pass the words – “Ꮜpae has always been the forward-thinking type, and maybe that is why he has still been regarded as the sound of the future. The Brazilian native is one of the more experimental musicians to grace the Swiss music scene in recent memory, and he has earned that reputation.
A fan of future sounds and the ever-advancing tech the world creates, he consistently utilizes new techniques and new equipment to make the freshest lo-fi, ambient music he possibly can. From simple computers to complex instruments, analog machines, and elevated digital interfaces, Ꮜpae has created a sound that is all his own to shape and mold.
His innovation doesn’t stop with mere releases of singles and albums. Numerous graphic design expertise and full rewards in a festival like Cannes and London Festival – propelled him from being a musician to a fully-fledged artist.
His last creative work – not less more than a documentary about crypto-economy and blockchain technology – you can watch here the trailer – https://vimeo.com/386642927. His endless knowledge and will to push the boundaries of music into new frontiers have not only made him a fan favorite, but it has also allowed him to create a world for his sounds to inhabit and grow into something new altogether.”
What are your plans for the near future?
Launch one music per month. Art and video pieces populate the narrative of the works of music and use blockchain platforms as an experimental test approach.
