Discussion With Edward Robertson On How to Rise From Failures
Edward Robertson was born in 95, at the age of 8 hip hop quickly caught my attention and ever since then it’s been my entire life.
What gives you energy?
Death, me thinking that there might not be another day or not wake up the next day strides for my energy the next day.
What’s your secret life hack?
It wouldn’t be hack if I gave it away!
Tell us about your relationship with your phone. Does it sleep with you?
My phone literally never leaves my hand, I sleep with it and walk with it, and always staring at certain numbers to see if any of them are improving or decreasing at all.
You unexpectedly find 15 minutes in your day, what do you do with it?
Make the best song I can within those 15 minutes.
When was the last time you felt burned out and why?
I was friends with some kids except they were manipulating me. They would feed me Xanax knowing I had an addiction at the time and stole 5-8k. I could tell it was a huge plot, they stole my Jordan concords as well as a chain. We were all friends for about 6 months, I felt extremely violated and what you say “burned”
When was the last time you felt you failed and how did you overcome it?
There was a point where I was signed to an MGMT team and they took complete creative control, I loved making music with people, it was a 2-year contract and it was up. In the end I felt alone in my music experience after one of my GREAT friend’s robmakesbangers invited me out to California where I met a few Xanarchy members.

Edward, how would you describe your sound?
I couldn’t, it has its own, & a lot of people tell me that.
How did you get started as a singer?
I started recording Hip-Hop when I was about 16 years old after admiring for about 8 years.
Do you write your own music?
110% I CANNOT have someone else’s thoughts mixed with mine.
What’s your favorite piece of music and why?
Kid Cudi Man on the Moon 2. I feel like Kid Cudi sacrificed his life along with Mac Miller to keep kids feeling content with being different not feeling alone when it came to depression, an AMAZING piece of works Man on the Moon 2 & Swimming.
What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you while working on a song?
Someone to tell me what to rap about in my track.
What’s ‘a day in the life’ for you?
Wake up, smoke a blunt, then I get right to making music if it’s not that I’m making music video’s or doing something involving music.
Who are your biggest musical inspirations?
Nipsey hussel, Roddy Ricch, Kid Cudi, Mac Miller, J. COLE, YNW MELLY.
What is the message you want to share with your “Dancing With The Devil” music?
Everybody at one point in their life has danced with the devil, whether their dancing with alcohol, pills, anything even overspending, I was stuck dancing with the devil for a long time due to my codeine abuse.
