Exclusive Dagon Von Lovecraft Interview with Muzique Magazine
How did you come by your stage/band name?
My band name (solo artist) comes from my favorite writer of modern horror, Hp Lovecraft. My last name was adopted from him, and Dagon being one of his characters, also similar to my actual last name Dagen.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
Ever since I was 8 and got my first instrument from my grandfather. It was a Casio keyboard. I’ve been obsessed with music ever since.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
There is a lot of musical influences that has developed my style. From my early years of thrash metal and grunge to my high school years listening to punk and goth.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
My new album “Feardemic”, is basically what I went through during the pandemic, From the beginning, until recently moving back to New York from North Carolina.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
My greatest challenges would be balancing my musical career as well as being a father. My greatest attribute when it comes to my work ethic would be I am as stubborn as they come. I will do what I need to get the project done.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
Definitely not, but I do feel like I am somewhat gifted at songwriting.
What are your plans for the near future?
Making new music that will make people feel like they are not alone in this struggle we call life. Continue playing live as much as possible.
