Best Accessories For Your Teenage Engineering Gear 2024
So its that time agan to do another Teenage Engineering accessory round up. so far 2024 has been an interesting year with the release of the EP-133 KO II. the successor to the Pocket Operator KO 33. its bigger and more feature laden profile really shook up the market. the release wasn’t without incident though, with the whole “Fadergate” fiasco, but once that was solved it was smooth sailing. so lets look at some of the top accessories for this device and the vendors that sell them.
Spillerphoto
Long known for their phenomenal Pocket Operator cases, Spillerphoto has built a reputation for turning out top quality products and with the release of the EP-133 Torsyen got straight to work and came up with the FLIPo case. a sturdy flip-style case that’s not too bulky and provides great protection for the unit. when open, the EP-133 will sit at a really nice working angle. and while closed, it has a nice, slim profile and protects all the buttons and knobs. it comes in a variety of colors and custom engraving options are also available. this case retails for $73 and you can get it at the Etsy store, or on his website
Module Labs
Gary over at module labs is a mad scientist when it comes to TE cases and accessories, and the best thing is that everything he does is simple with no frills. right to the point and useful. so when he dropped the Orbital Controls for the EP-133 i knew they were gonna be a game changer. with the grip knobs and the solid printed fader cap, this kit will stand up to everything you throw at it. and the bearings that were placed in the knobs give them a unique visual flair. they retail for $33 on the Module Labs website
Mad City Crochet
Of course we have to show love to the original Pocket Operators and this is where Will Miller comes in. the self proclaimed “Nerdy 43 year old father of 2 young teen sons” is an avid Techno musician and creator. he also loves his Pocket Operators and came up with a nice solution for those with multiple units. his Dual stand is a great unit that is sturdy and will stand 2 pocket operators up at a great playing angle. the BEST part about this unit is that its expandable. it has a spacer unit that you can easily slide the stand into and now you can use (or display) multiple Pocket Operators at once. and these 3-D printed units retail for $40 at his Etsy Store.
Audio Wanderer
Spanish Musician and creator Audio Wanderer has made his contribution to the TE community in a very unique way. he has made a few sample packs specifically for the EP-133 (i believe he is the first to do so) with the way the EP-133 is set up you can remove the factory samples and add your own and AW’s packs are the perfect addition to use to get creative. there are currently 2 packs available. the 133 drum kit and the 3K sample pack. they retail for around $4-$5 on his Bandcamp Page
Cntr Rndm
Cntr Rndm is the undisputed king of sample packs for the original Pocket Operator PO-33. with close to 100+ sample packs and drumkits you are guarenteed to find something you can use to make your creations stand out. very easy to install and most usually come with pre made patterns as well. and the great thing is that the majority of these packs are FREE. there are a few premium packs that cost anywhere from $5 to $7, but premium stuff will cost a little money and the quality is well worth the price. you can find these packs on Cntr Rndms Gumroad page
That’s it for the 2024 TE accessory round up there are quite a few more great things out there, stay tuned and we will bring them to you in a future article.
