WAILOK – Rachnoff Wailok
WAILOK, a music composer from Hong Kong, follows a modern classical style, bringing the atmosphere of the soundtrack of vintage romantic films to the audiences. With his first new English single — HELLO (in 2023 June 15) WAILOK has explored different music styles to blend with their trademark melodies and harmonies.
He has effectively added elements of the classical romantic and vintage film to his music, he used the classical tradition style – punctus contra punctum which means a counterpoint, a relationship between two or more musical lines which is harmonically interdependent yet independent in rhythm and melodic contour. These profound skills made his music a fine texture.

Apart from Wailok’s exquisite composing technique, his deep and soulful heart brought his music to a higher realm. For the new single ‘’Hello‘’, The music video presents a modern classical aesthetic with black and white filming. The 3-minute music video is monologue-style microfilm. The cool images depict a poignant love story, the helplessness of former lovers becoming strangers after missing each other, and the loneliness of occasional longing.
And also, WAILOK teamed up with Leopoldo Lopes, who is a Grammy-winning producer based in Berlin. Leopoldo is known for his excellent work with Coldplay, Alicia Keys, and Mariah Carey, and he’s also worked with Celine Dion (Titanic – My heart will go on). Also, in the string recording part, WAILOK teamed up with talented musicians from Ukraine, Alexey Zavgorodnyy playing the part of violin and viola, and Kateryna Mytrofanova playing the part of the cello.
