S.C. talks about his sense of style, current project and more
How did you come by your stage name?
I got the name SC from my roommate in college. I’m from South Carolina and I hung with him and sloth of other guys from the DMV, so when I started making music I just stuck with it.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
I come from a very musically inclined family so it’s something that kinda comes naturally for me. I realized I really loved making music when I would stay up all night constantly making beats and writing. When I played some of my music to my friends and the response I got from them made me wanna pursue a career in music.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
I would have to give credit to the greats. ( Jay-Z, Quincy Jones, Puff Daddy, The Neptunes ) just to name a few.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
Shock Combat HD is the deluxe version of Shock Combat. I came up with the concept for the project from the second 300 movie (Rise of an Empire). The project was gonna be unexpected and strong.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Finding a balance between my work and personal life. I think my greatest attribute is seeing things through till the end
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
They’re a lot of talented people in the industry but I will say I’m one of the best.
What are your plans for the near future?
I plan to release another project in the spring/summer but I don’t have an official date as of now.
