Mainey Interview with Muzique Magazine
How did you come by your stage name?
My grandfather named me Mainey as a toddler, it means manly.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
I’ve loved music since I learned how to talk and knew I wanted to pursue a career in while growing up in the 90’s rap golden era.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
I credit a lot of my style to The Bay-era music movement and of course to my home town Oklahoma City for the lingo I’m blessed with.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
10 Toez Tank actually blessed me with the opportunity to get on track.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Some of my greatest challenges are staying focused and keeping the vision of success when the odds are against me. My greatest attribute is completing the tasks I start.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
I’ve mastered the art of ceremony without a doubt, over time I have been able to write dope lyrics without cursing or using the N-word.
What are your plans for the near future?
My plans for the near future are to become 100% independent and keep creating.
