Dead Silence talks about his craft, style, and upcoming music
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
I knew I loved my craft when my lyrics gave me more happiness than anything in life. I realized I wanted to be an official artist when I recorded my first rough draft song at 15. The song was trash, but I knew I could develop my sound and style into something that some people could vibe to for the better.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
I developed my own style. I never had a Idol. I like how I approach music.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
I always had dreams of expanding outside of the city I was born and raised in. I have a love for my city though unfortunately, the city has taken numerous people of mine. There’s always pros and cons to everything we do in life so why not capitalize on the positive things in life while you can.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
My greatest challenge was to consistently grow my audience in a small market city. Sometimes it takes longer than expected, sometimes we fail knowing that we moved at first with confidence, just keep moving. My greatest attribute when it comes to my work ethic is resilience.
For the longest, when I first started making music, I was the only one that had my back. Eventually, I gained a following in Indianapolis, but it took a few people and consistent moves in and out of the state for me to achieve my dreams.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
My goal is to not be the best but to spread more of a positive influence on those who feel as if they can’t be themselves to achieve their dreams involving entertainment in general.
What are your plans for the near future?
More TV and Movie Placements.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
I’d like to thank everyone who genuinely supports me and never doubted me. Shoutout to Blindpside, Eddie J, Mitch from 416 Wabash, Ques from Stonetree, Wavy Blayne, and Zero Tha Composer.
