Alexinus exclusive interview with Muzique Magazine

How did you come by your stage name?

I used to play around with words for some time, trying to find an artist name that would represent me, and one day I said to myself that I dream to tour in the United States (US) and my name is Alessandro (Alex for friends) and I was like: “why not it actually represents me a lot!”

So I created Alexinus, it still inspires me everyday to do more.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I always loved music since childhood. I started playing the guitar as it’s my favorite instrument and got influenced by rock and metal bands such as Megadeth and Metallica for example, but I always loved all the genres of music and then when I was around 14 years old I discovered the world of the electronic one. Day after day I decided to start producing and I just naturally fell in love with it even more during the process, it’s my biggest passion.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

Honestly, I don’t know, I’m really inspired by so many artists but I’m always looking for my own style and to create something new both to create different music than usual and so that people know that it’s me when they hear it.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

I think writing music is most of the times about sharing personal stories and emotions, and to me, with all the projects I’m working on I love to use music as an art to show what I think and share my stories with people in a very natural way, that’s how I come up with the concept of the music I make. I’m creating all my new projects inspired by my daily life and I have so many ideas that sometimes I don’t even know how to write them all down.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

My greatest challenge is definitely the production of a worldwide hit album and to collaborate on it one day with my favorite artists, then a world tour of it. That’s my biggest dream for sure.

It’s all about working hard, putting all the passion and love for music, sacrifices and everything is possible. Even the most successful artists on the planet that had nothing before say this, and if you’re not working hard enough, do more.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

Absolutely not I think the opposite, there’s always someone better. I admire the top artists and they are an inspiration to me to try to be like them and then better than them. Those who think they’re the best are always the worst, there are always new things to learn from someone else.

What are your plans for the near future?

I just want to create great music that everybody loves, then maybe one day also open my own label is an idea I had, we’ll see.

What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?

Work the hardest that you can, keep dreaming every day, never give up and be humble and friendly with everyone, don’t think you can’t make it when you get a “No”, it doesn’t mean you’re not good but that you have to get better instead. Take advantage of better artists and make treasure of their councils and tips, build your contacts, then work harder to become like them, it’s all about the passion for music and how much you want it.
